The breastfeeding relationship can be riddled with all sorts of emotions. From incorrect information regarding milk supply to the delicate balance of hormones including oxytocin, this stage in a woman’s life can be emotional, challenging, beautiful, uncomfortable, blissful, rewarding, and sometimes controversial.
Our doulas here at Queendom Doula Services remain with you from the start of active labor through the duration of your birth, continuing monitor your vital signs, assessing fetal well-being, and watching over the progression of your labor. We are here to help every step of the process.
During your consultation, we allow ample time, usually about an hour, to ask questions and discuss our doula services so that you can make informed decisions about your care.
The days following the birth of your child is very important and we put a superior level of attention and care into your needs. We schedule days to come and check on your vital signs, making sure you are healing normally and getting the support you need. This process is focused on your physical and emotional well-being.
Studies have shown that for those having a low-risk pregnancy who are attended by trained birth professionals, birth at home (or in a freestanding birth center) is at least as safe as birth in the hospital. Water birth is also an option in any location.
